A world scientific achievement in pisciculture

Tunisia has just made a world scientific achievement in the field of pisciculture. In fact, after years of research, scientists in the National Institute of Sea Sciences and technologies (Monastir Department) succeeded in adapting sires of mullets and inducing laying in a natural way in aquariums keeping the newborn called “alevins” in good health. The institute can from now on provide sufficient quantities of ‘El Bouri” fish without taking it from the sea. This scientific procedure will help domesticate this fish at the national level, which also means the production of alevins and fish farming in lakes, dams and wells to ensure sufficient production.
