Fostering Tunisian-Algerian cooperation in the area of fisheries

Mr. Habib Haddad, Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Hydraulic Resources, and Ismail Mimoun, Algerian Minister of Fisheries and Halieutic Resources, chaired in Tunis a Tunisian-Algerian working session devoted to the identification of partnership opportunities in the fisheries sector. On this occasion, Mr. Haddad stressed the need to encourage Tunisian-Algerian fisheries cooperation, by promoting partnerships among scientific research centers in the field of aquaculture and fisheries, and by granting incentives to businessmen to encourage them set up joint ventures. On his part, Mr. Ismail Mimoum underlined the significance of strengthening bilateral relations in the area of fisheries with the view to cope with the competition of large economic holdings in the world. The Minister also recalled the halieutic wealth of Algeria, in this respect.
