“There are currently preparations underway to change the Center for Sea Sciences (CSS) into a general authority for fish research and studies,” Minister of Fish Wealth Dr. Ali Mohammed Majoor was reported as saying.

He added that the new authority would be divided into several centers, such as a center for marine biology and a center for ocean pollution, in addition to four regional stations in Al-Hodeidah, Aden, Al-Mukalla and Al-Ghaydah.

“The ministry has formed a committee to design the structure of the new authority,” he said. He pointed out that that committee would organize a workshop next November to discuss the new body
