National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Tainan City in southern Taiwan will sign a contract with an American venture to assist in developing aquaculture off Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast.
Under the contract, the NCKU will provide a biomedical product developed by the school to the DevCorp International, an American venture operating in the Arabian Gulf area.
The fish farming project has received much attention from the cabinet-level Council for Economic Planning and Development, the spokesman for the school said, adding that the contract will not involve revealing any crucial technology know how.
The school will also hold a news conference after the signing ceremony to introduce the public to the product which has been used for about one year in Taiwan, and the leading technology involved in its production, the spokesman said.
