Morocco's permanent representative to the Rome-based Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Hassan Abouyoub, was elected on May 17th, 2010, Vice-Chairman of the council of the Organization.

FAO holds, from May 17 to 21, the 139th session of its council, which is the executive instrument of the Conference, the supreme governing body of organization.
