
The Regional Office for the Near East and North Africa of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO-RNE) and INFOSAMAK Centre organized, under the auspices of the Moroccan Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, a seminar on: "Fish trade and illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing" during the period from June 22 to 24 in Agadir.
The Regional Office for the Near East and North Africa of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO-RNE) and INFOSAMAK Centre organized, under the auspices of the Moroccan Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, a seminar on: "Fish trade and illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing" during the period from June 22 to 24 in Agadir.
The seminar aimed at shedding light on Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated fishing (UU ) phenomena and means to fight it in order to prevent, deter and eliminate its negative effects. It was also an opportunity to exchange experiences and to strengthen the cooperation and harmonization of efforts between countries participating at this event.
22 countries from the Near East and North Africa were represented at the discussion held in Agadir, marked by the contribution of 25 experts from the region, North America, Europe as well as several regional and international specialized bodies.
