Yemen : Cabinet allocates YR 100 million to help fishermen

The Cabinet approved on Tuesday September 27th, allocating YR 100 million from revenues of the Fund of Agricultural and Fishery Development to help fishermen to fix their boats that were damaged because of the last natural disasters and terror acts in the sea.

The decision of the cabinet came after discussing a report presented by the ministry fisheries over financial problems of many fishermen who could not pay their debts or fixing their boats.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet also approved an evaluative report, prepared by the ministry of agriculture in cooperation with the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) on the damages caused by Tsunami that hit beaches of Mahrah province and Socatra island.

The ministers council authorized the ministry and other concerned bodies to negotiate with FAO officials over the urgent compensations may be offered to the fishermen.
