Yemen: US$ 10mn fisheries project planned in al-Maharah In 2008, fisheries projects will be carried out in al-Maharah governorate in Yemen at US$ 10mn (EUR 6.47mn). In order to improve the capabilities of the fisheries societies, a training program has been prepared in the fisheries projects, according to Amr Awad, the project Director General. Fish export will be monitored through a planned center. Seven fisheries facilities will be developed like platforms for selling fish and ice factory in the governorate as well as rehabilitating the governorate's seaport.
