Morocco and Chile sign agreement in fisheries and aquaculture Agadir - Morocco and Chile signed, on Thursday, July, 2nd 2009, a protocol of agreement on the implementation of a bilateral memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation in fisheries and aquaculture. Under the agreement, the two parties will provide assistance and share experiences in various areas, such as geographic information systems, the development of sea ranching, aquaculture and the modernization of fisheries fleet, Morocco's fisheries and agriculture Ministry said in a statement. The agreement was signed by Morocco's fisheries and agriculture minister, Aziz Akhannouch, and visiting Chilean assistant secretary of fisheries, Jorge Chocair Santibanez. The Chilean official, who leads a large delegation on an official visit to the kingdom (June 29-July 3), held a series of talks with Moroccan professionals to establish a sustainable partnership, the statement said.
