Stable prices going into second half of 2007
Following an increase during the early months of 2007, European import prices for frozen Atlantic cod fillets (European Price Report) have largely stabilized in recent months. Skinless, boneless blocks of Norwegian or Polish origin, have been quoted around €5.90-5.95/kg since March. With prices for other groundfish fillets somewhat weaker recently, cod fillet prices look set to remain stable going into the second half of the year. However, with no sign of a major change in the European stock situation, the longer term price trend appears upward.
