FAO publishes amended database of fish species

FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) has launched an expanded version of its database on fish species.

MUSCAT - Salim bin Said al Ghattami, Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), opened a four-day agriculture and fisheries exhibition at the Oman International Exhibition Centre (OIEC) on Saturday, March 17th, 2007. The event is organised by Al Katkout International Trade and Exhibition in association with the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries and the Centre for Marketing Information and Advisory Services for Fisheries Products in the Arab Region (INFOSAMAK).

Yemen: Fishing Sector to be Developed

A new fisheries resource conservation and management project is going to be introduced by Yemen in February 2007. Under the project, which will be implemented by the Ministry of Fisheries Wealth,the European Commission and the World Bank, an information centre will be developed.
